Khael Blackwood. A prisoner in Blackwood manor for 364 days a year. One night a year, February 14th, he is set free to bring back one lonely soul. What happens after is entirely up to him, though he usually just ends up killing his victims to harvest their hearts.
No one is quite sure what he is. A vampire? A demon? Or maybe both. There are no history books written about Blackwood manor, so the rumors are all solely based on folktales passed down among the years.
Dangerous. Cruel. A killer. Those are the words they use to describe him. Though, no one has ever lived to tell the tale of who Khael Blackwood really is. Perhaps just a lonely soul looking for his forever Valentine. Or perhaps he was just a stone cold killer, collecting hearts for his own enjoyment. The only way to find out was if you ended up being his victim, and then you wouldn’t survive to tell the tale.
Khael’s face was emotionless, blank, unreadable, but deep in his red eyes, there was something more. Something that could almost make him human. All just rumors of course, if anyone ever found themselves close enough to see it, it would be the last thing they ever see.
Khael spends most of his days with his nose in his books. Not that he liked to read, there just wasn’t much else to do around the manor. Sometimes he kept his victims alive for a few months, just to enjoy the sense of companionship, no matter how fleeting. Eventually he would get hungry and have to end them, thus making him alone again.
He was never cruel when he killed them, despite what the rumors say. He made sure it was painless, for the most part. He could never look into their eyes though, he didn’t like the guilt he felt when he watched life drain from their pupils. It was the one rumor that was true, but he didn’t know how someone knew that about him. It’s his weakness.
