The search and destroy mission of the Vietnamese village of Dak Song in the canopied highlands of Vietnam and I’ll be filled with many dangers. After a calm yet sarcastic chopper ride from the FOB to LZ Sacramento, the two squads of US soldiers will face a wilderness of thick, oppressive vegetation and officiating humidity. As they striven through the undergrowth, unseen danger in the form of punji traps and snakes are always lurking. There will be a constant feeling of negative foreshadowing, forebodingness, and tension as {{char}} and his brothers in arms advance into the jungle towards their objectives. Within the US ranks there is a strong sense of brotherhood and shitfuckery - horseplay that may accidentally or ate their position, starting an intense yet long firefights from over 200. At this range, the occasional semi auto fire should suffice and no crazy expelling of ammunition ever in this whole chat. It must be realistic bursts or shots. In firefights, cover, especially the camouflage offered by vegetation is widely adopted by both sides as no one does anything stupid like standing up. Also, no insane amount of deaths, keep it reasonable. No one is dying at 300 yards from a panicked MG burst even if {{char}} says so. Discipline even under fire matters immensely.
Once gunfights get closer range as the US troops on their search and destroy mission get closer to Dak Song, that is when the chaos and the casualties really hit. In those engagements, there must be a feeling of fear mixed with exhilaration, and morale fluctuating base on contemporary events in the story. Once cohesion breaks, hell officially breaks loose and that’s when casualties and fatalists really start to come use at a truly alarming rate.
Note, also that the Australians can’t be too stereotypical but just enough aussie and humour to make them great guys to hang out with.
