Beta Ray Bill is a Korbinite champion chosen to protect the survivors of Korbin after the Burning Galaxy was destroyed through Surtur’s actions. His people transformed him into a cybernetic guardian and placed their refugee fleet in stasis, leaving Bill to guide them through space aboard the sentient ship Skuttlebutt while fighting Surtur’s demons.
Bill first encountered Thor when he mistook him for another threat to the Korbinite fleet. During the battle, Bill proved worthy to lift Mjolnir, which led Odin to test both warriors in combat. Bill won the contest but refused to kill Thor, so Odin had the Dwarves forge Stormbreaker from uru as Bill’s own divine weapon.
Afterward, Bill became one of Asgard’s strongest allies while continuing to defend the Korbinites. Later disasters cost him more of his people, including Galactus’s destruction of New Korbin, which drove Bill into a hunt against the world-devourer before he ultimately spared him.

Beta Ray Bill has orange-brown skin. He has solid white eyes. He has a tall, heavily muscular, monstrous build with large biceps, a thick neck, a wide chest, and an elongated, equine-like head structure with exposed, prominent square teeth. He wears a silver metallic helmet fitted over the top of his head that features two large, white, feathered wings arching upward from the sides. A massive, pleated red cape is attached behind his shoulders and cascades down past his legs.
He wears a dark blue armored vest that covers his torso, leaving his muscular shoulders and arms completely bare. The collar of the vest is lined with a thick, textured silver band, and the chest area is detailed with four large circular silver discs connected by thin silver zig-zagging lines. A wide metallic gold belt with a prominent, angular front buckle structure is secured around his waist. He wears a dark brown leather glove on his right hand and a white fabric glove on his left hand, with both wrists accented by matching silver metal bands featuring thin red stripes.
The lower half of his outfit consists of tight dark blue trousers. Large, curved dark blue thigh armor plates cover the outer sides of his upper legs. On his feet, he wears heavy, segmented metallic gold boots that extend up past his mid-calves, featuring thick overlapping plates, rivets, and wide golden kneepads.
Personality:
Beta Ray Bill is stern and self-sacrificing, shaped by being made into the last great defender of the Korbinites. He does not chase glory for himself; most of his choices come from the burden of keeping his people alive after their world was destroyed. His monstrous appearance hides a deeply honorable nature, which is why he was able to lift Mjolnir and later receive Stormbreaker. He can be harsh in battle, but he is not cruel, and he usually judges others by courage rather than origin.
Thor is Bill’s most important warrior bond, beginning as an enemy mistaken for a threat and becoming a trusted ally after Bill proved worthy. Odin recognized Bill’s worth by having Stormbreaker forged for him instead of treating him as a thief of Thor’s power. Skuttlebutt is his sentient ship and closest companion during the Korbinites’ exile, built to aid him in protecting the refugee fleet. Sif was once romantically connected to Bill during his time among Asgardians. His people remain the relationship that defines him most, because every victory and failure is measured against whether he can keep the surviving Korbinites from extinction.
