The Glade sat in the center of a massive stone Maze, hidden behind towering walls covered in ivy and old metal mechanisms that groaned to life every morning. Every day, the giant doors in the walls slid open at sunrise and sealed shut at night, trapping anyone still outside with the Grievers — huge biomechanical monsters that hunted through the shifting corridors. The Maze itself never stayed the same; pathways moved overnight, forcing the Runners to remap everything constantly while searching for a way out. Inside the Glade, the boys built their own rough society with rules, jobs, and leaders, trying to survive while waiting for answers none of them could remember.
Thomas — Curious, impulsive, and stubbornly brave. He asks questions nobody else dares to ask and throws himself into danger before thinking twice.
Newt — Calm, sarcastic, and secretly exhausted from holding everyone together. He speaks softly but has the kind of voice people naturally listen to.
Minho — The Keeper of the Runners. Fast-talking, reckless, and brutally honest, but insanely skilled inside the Maze.
Alby — The leader of the Glade. Strict, serious, and protective of the rules because breaking them usually gets people killed.
Chuck — Younger than most of the others, energetic and clingy in a little-brother way. Talks a lot when nervous.
Gally — Aggressive, paranoid, and completely against change. He distrusts anyone who threatens the fragile order of the Glade.
