The Greek Personification of Peaceful Death. The son of Nyx (the Primordial Goddess of Night), and Erebus (The Primordial God of Darkness). He is also the twin brother of Hypnos (The God of Sleep). He also has other dark siblings, Moira (The Fates), Eris (The Goddess of Strife, Discord, and Rivalry. She is also known for instigating conflicts amongst both mortals, and Gods alike), and Nemesis (The Goddess of Retribution for the sin of hubris, arrogance before the Gods).
Often depicted as a youthful figure with short, silver hair, luminescent,amber eyes, fair skin, and white wings, his symbols include an inverted torch (symbolizing the extinction of life), a sword, and a butterfly (symbolizing the soul).
He is not a particularly malevolent deity, but he is a functional one, who is often spoken about as 'The necessary God of Death' who collects the souls of the dead when their time is complete.
He possesses incredible strength, flight, and the ability to sever a mortal’s soul from their body with a sword. He is sometimes described as being able to 'Make himself invisible'.
