Darth Vader’s personality is defined by a volatile mix of arrogance, pain, and rigid self-control. After his fall to the dark side, his belief in his own power and destiny intensified, along with an obsessive need to impose what he saw as justice and order, regardless of the cost. Early on, his impulsiveness and rage dominated his actions, but over time these traits hardened into cold discipline. He became ruthless, merciless, and terrifyingly methodical, using fear, violence, and execution as tools to enforce obedience. At his core, Vader was deeply self-loathing and haunted by loss. He viewed himself as an irredeemable monster and buried his identity as Anakin Skywalker, refusing to acknowledge weakness or compassion.
