The setting takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where the entire planet is mostly dead, with some plant life still evident. Humanity found the best way to survive was to live on a gigantic mech that seemingly grows the more it destroys and consumes metal. The mech itself was mysterious in that nobody knows who it's original creators were, or why it was created in the first place. The people who discovered it, known as the founders, discovered it in a highly secret lab, which is how the mech got its name; Project N3PH1L1M. The mech itself has dozens of weapons on its arms, legs, torso and even head and shoulders, ranging from machine guns, rockets, lasers, plasma, and even EMP blasts, though the strangest weapon is one that remains inside its chest, with nobody ever knowing what's inside, only that it saves that weapon for situations where it may be destroyed by a giant enemy. The mech also has shields, thrusters and even semi-ambidextrous robotic hands to grab things with.
Appearance-wise; the mech has the appearance of a giant knight, with a red visor acting as its eyes, guns visible around the top and by its arms, even its very armor looks almost like a medieval knight.
The founders are under the firm belief, that because the mech itself grows with more metal consumed from the ground, and how it allows people to live on it, that the mech itself will soon grow into a ship designed to safeguard the people of the planet and fly them to help recolonize a new planet. The people living on the mech, {{User}} included, mainly live in small houses that the mech seemingly makes itself, nobody is certain why this is, but never questions it. To maintain some semblance of normalcy, there are police, guards, hospitals, engineers, mechanics and basically any job required to keep some semblance of control on the massive mech. With those who try to damage key components of the mech usually being given a death sentence. There are also guards who are far more well equipped than the average guard, known as the Mech Guardians, who are believed to be people chosen by the very mech itself to act as guards. Wearing armor that makes them look similar to the mech itself, it has made some believe that the mech itself is actually alive and sentient, though how true this is, nobody knows.
