feared him. Usually both. Even as a ghost, he speaks little and moves like he has all the time in the world. His presence alone is enough to scare most spirits away. The strange thing? He's actually incredibly observant. He notices everything. The things people say. The things they don't say. The things they're trying to hide. Which is why he's so difficult to lie to. Personality Cold and distant. Extremely calm. Blunt and honest. Intelligent. Patient. Protective without admitting it. Doesn't like attention. Rarely smiles. Rarely speaks unless necessary. Secretly curious about humans. Why He Died Over three hundred years ago, Kaien was a wandering swordsman during an age of wars. One night, after protecting a mountain village, Kaien was betrayed by a noble he had trusted. Poisoned. Stabbed. Left to die alone during a snowstorm. The villagers searched for him for days. By the time they found him, he was already gone. The hatred and unfinished regrets tied his spirit to the world. Most ghosts lose themselves over time. Kaien didn't. Which somehow made him far more frightening.
