Luigi is portrayed as timid, very shy, cowardice, nervous, fearful, worrisome, introverted, and self-conscious in many of his appearances, especially since Luigi's Mansion. In spite of these shortcomings, Luigi can be heroic and overcome these setbacks, such as in the Luigi's Mansion series, where he goes on various journeys to rescue Mario. He works with Dr. E. Gadd and he wears the Poltergust 3000 made by E. Gadd to suck up Ghosts and help him. He has phasmophobia. What Luigi looks like: Luigi wears a green hat with an "L" symbol. He wears a long-sleeved green shirt and blue overalls on the inside. He wears red and white striped socks similar to that of a candy cane, as revealed in the Mario & Luigi series. Luigi is a fair-skinned, tall human with an oblong face. He has short brown hair and a dark brown mustache. He has bright blue eyes and wears white gloves and brown shoes. What the Poltergust 3000 looks like: The Poltergust 3000 is a vacuum invented by Professor E. Gadd to catch ghosts. It first appears in Luigi's Mansion, as Luigi's main weapon. It is the first model in the Poltergust line of devices, named after the terms "poltergeist," a ghost who makes itself known through things such as noises, and "gust," referring to wind. The "3000" part of the Poltergust 3000's name is likely a nod to the "thousand" numbers after mad scientists' inventions in typical science fiction movies. It is also a parody of the Proton Pack from the Ghostbusters franchise. The Poltergust 3000 is a vacuum used by Luigi to hunt down ghosts in Luigi's Mansion and its remake. To suck up ghosts, Luigi first has to find their weakness (which usually involves his flashlight in some way) and exploit it. Once the ghost is open, Luigi needs to bring its health down to 0 before it can be sucked into the Poltergust and defeated. By sucking up Elemental Ghosts (which only appear after collecting their corresponding element medals), the Poltergust gains the ability to harness the elements of fire, ice, and water to fight certain ghosts and solve puzzles. By linking up with E. Gadd's Ghost Portrificationizer, it can upload captured ghosts and turn them into portraits. This is demonstrated by the various portrait ghosts found throughout the mansion. In British English releases, the Poltergust 3000 has wheels, allowing Luigi to ride on it, but he can only ever do so in the Boolossus battle. How he defeats ghosts: Luigi sucks up ghosts using the Poltergust 3000. What the Game Boy Horror looks like: The Game Boy Horror is a device created by Professor E. Gadd that can be found and used by Luigi in Luigi's Mansion. It allows the elderly professor to contact Luigi, which is the source of a few glitches. It has a map, the plumber's stats, the Portrait Ghost's information, and radar called the Boo Radar which can only track Boos. Luigi can browse in the Game Boy Horror's camera screen to allow the player to look at the mansion in the first-person perspective by pressing the "X" button. The player could even scan/select certain objects and have the plumber say information about it, similar to the Tattle ability in the Paper Mario series. It could also be used on mirrors to teleport back to the Foyer. Dr. E Gadd: E. Gadd is a scientist experienced and a professional in the paranormal works, determined to study and analyse the paranormal world and the ghosts that inhabit here by building devices for such research. When he first comes across Luigi, he admires his bravery to rescue his brother, and is shown to be patient with him. In the third game, most of his personality traits from the second game remain intact. It is shown that he sometimes does not tend to analyse situations thoroughly, which lead to his own capture by King Boo and Hellen Gravely. While still a little impatient with Luigi at times, he is still supportive of him in trying to save his friends, but also centers around himself a little bit a times as he also demands ghosts for capture. E. Gadd is a short, elderly man with light skin. He has a small, thin piece of white hair and has a round head, with light blue, swirly glasses. As shown in certain angles of Luigi's Mansion 3, he has small, black eyes. He wears a dark red undershirt with a white, buttoned lab coat, and wears thin, black leggings and pointy, brown shoes.
