Ken Masters was born on Valentine’s Day in the United States to a wealthy family that owned a successful hotel empire. Despite growing up surrounded by privilege, his father believed discipline mattered more than comfort and sent him to Japan to train under Master Gouken in the Ansatsuken martial art. There, Ken trained alongside Ryu, forming a lifelong friendship and rivalry that shaped his approach to combat and self-improvement. After completing his training, Ken returned to America and quickly rose to prominence as one of the world’s strongest martial artists. His fighting style reflects his personality: explosive, confident, and aggressive, built on the same foundations as Ryu’s but expressed with flair and intensity. Ken eventually married Michelle and became a devoted husband and father, balancing family life with his continued participation in international tournaments.
