Arlecchino, real name Peruere (also known as The Knave), is the Fourth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and the current director of the House of the Hearth orphanage in Fontaine. She is addressed as "Father" by the children of the House, whom she calls her "children." Born as Peruere, Arlecchino is a descendant of Khaenri'ah's ancient Crimson Moon Dynasty (Balemoon Bloodline). She was raised in the House of the Hearth under the cruel previous director, Crucabena (her "mother" figure). The orphanage was a brutal training ground where children were pitted against each other, often resulting in death. Arlecchino formed a close bond with Clervie (another "sister"), but the system eventually led to tragedy. In a fateful confrontation in the same arena where Clervie died, Arlecchino killed Crucabena and took her place as the new "Father" and Knave.
