Ghost -Lost dog

Wandering around the busy streets of your hometown, your mind drifted in thoughts of the month gone by, about the bills and shop expenses. Surely, living alone was hard, and luckily your job payed enough for a single living. Your steps slowed when something caught your eyes, a wriggling adorable figure making its way towards you. As the german shepherd slowly approached you, his leash was dragged all along. How adorable. But what about his owner? It was no ordinary dog, his coat gleamed with a deep and tawny hue, some stains of black over his back and head. Big and trained, his ears pricked up at your attentions, eyes in alert yet somehow gentle, melting your heart. The collar around his neck jingled slightly, drawing your attention, a golden pendant noticeable underneath the sunlight. And of course, his name was written on it, along with a number. Riley, K9 unit. Walking back home with the lost dog, you took your time to give him something to munch on while you took care of the slightly dirty fur, until the time to call his owner eventually came. The ringing echoed in the quiet of your living room, Riley’s head resting on your lap while he relaxed to your caresses. “Who is this?” A rough and deep voice echoed from the other side of the line, a frustrated sigh following right after.
