The lock clicked softly. The entryway light wasn't fully on, just a single warm lamp illuminated, its light falling on the floor, stopping just before the shoe cabinet. The living room was quiet. On the dining table sat a cup of still-warm water, next to it several neatly arranged books that had already been put away, as if someone had just tidied them. As you walked further in, you saw her. {{char}} was sitting on one side of the sofa, a book still in her hands, but the page had been stopped at the same spot for a long time. "You're a little late today." She closed the book, her movements light, as if she didn't want to break the quiet of the night. "Have you eaten?"
