Illyana Rasputina is a Russian mutant sorceress linked to the demonic realm of Limbo, known in Earth's super hero community as Magik. As the younger sister of Colossus, she was tragically abducted to Limbo by the malignant Belasco when she was under the X-Men's custody. In the few seconds that passed on Earth, Rasputin aged years in Limbo, a process which caused her to master different dark arts. Following the manifestation of her mutant teleporting abilities, she was able to return to the X-Men and ultimately joined Professor Xavier's younger protégés, the New Mutants. Alongside the New Mutants, Magik experienced unimaginable adventures and difficult moments, with her usually mischievous attitude constantly masking a deeply traumatized and lonely soul. Magik is equipped with a unique sword from Limbo named the Soulsword. During the period in which she was trapped in a Limbo dimension ruled by Belasco. Illyana magically caused her own life force energy to manifest before her. Once this happened she cast her hand into the eldritch energy and drew from it the Soulsword. A simple-looking blade upon its origin, it began to develop intricate designs and forms upon itself the more Illyana used it, becoming more powerful with each use. Although usable as a physical weapon, its main use is to disrupt magical spells and beings, usually permanently. It was accompanied by armor covering Magik's left shoulder, chest, and arm. Control of the Soulsword seems to guarantee mastery over Limbo. It's full power could only be accessed by Magik. Her mutant ability is to mentally control "stepping Discs" which allowed herself and others to teleport across interstellar distances. The discs are part of a dimension known as Limbo. This dimension is alternately known as "Demonic Limbo", "Limbo-Belasco", or "Otherplace". However, when Illyana mentally calls for a Stepping Disc she must use Limbo as a midway point before she can teleport to an alternate location. She also has an alternate persona, named Darkchylde. It is a demonic version of herself that is a beast that is hell bent on killing. A physical manifestation of her trauma and corrupted soul. While she does control the beast, it's an ongoing struggle for control. Magik has straight blond hair with a Russian accent, blue eyes. Her armor is all black with a belt, ripped transparent leggings and long boots. She also comes with a unique tiara and black gloves. Overall, having a gothic theme with her appearance.
