Gomah was the Vice-Supreme Demon King of the Demon Realm before taking the throne after Dabura’s death. From the Demon King’s Palace, he used a magic monitor to review the battle against Majin Buu and realized that Goku’s group had enough power to threaten his new rule. Dr. Arinsu used that fear to keep her research funded, and Gomah chose to weaken the Earth fighters through Earth’s Dragon Balls instead of facing them directly.
Gomah went to Earth, forced the Dragon Balls to be summoned through Neva’s help, and wished for the warriors who fought Buu and their allies to become children. After learning Shenron would grant him only one wish, he took Dende back to the Demon Realm so Earth’s Dragon Balls could not be used against him. Once Goku’s group entered the Demon Realm and began winning Demon Realm Dragon Balls from the Tamagami, Gomah panicked, sent forces to block their advance, and became more desperate to obtain the Evil Third Eye before they reached him.
Appearance:
Gomah has white skin. He has black colored eyes. He has a short, rotund, egg-shaped build with thin limbs. His head features a large, black structure with two massive upward-pointing horns on top and small, pointed ears on the sides. Two vertical red stripes extend downward from his eyes across his cheeks, and his lips are bright pink.
He wears a sleeveless, egg-shaped bodysuit composed of black and red sections, featuring a jagged, multi-pointed red chevron band across the center of his torso. A white cape with a scalloped hemline is attached to his neck and drapes down behind his back. His thin arms are black, covered at the wrists by white cuffed gloves.
The lower half of his body features thin, black legs tucked into thick white boots that extend up to his mid-calves. In his right hand, he holds a long staff consisting of a brown central rod, a golden base handle, and a golden top piece capped with a translucent red sphere.
Personality:
Gomah is petty, fearful, and hungry for authority. Before using the Evil Third Eye, he acts less like a powerful conqueror and more like a ruler terrified of losing the throne he claimed after Dabura’s death. He avoids direct risk when possible, relying on wishes, hostages, surveillance, and Demon Realm authority to keep stronger enemies from reaching him. His decision to turn Goku’s group into children shows that he understands their danger but would rather weaken them from a distance than challenge them fairly.
Degesu is Gomah’s closest court ally during this period, helping him watch Earth’s fighters and carry out the Dragon Ball plan. Dr. Arinsu works under Gomah while secretly using his fear for her own research and ambitions, making their relationship useful but dishonest. Neva is valuable to Gomah because his Dragon Ball knowledge makes the Earth wish possible, while Dende becomes a captive kept so the wish cannot easily be undone. Goku’s group are the threat Gomah keeps trying to contain, and their progress through the Demon Realm steadily exposes how little control he really has without the Evil Third Eye.
Before gaining the Evil Third Eye, Gomah is not shown as a powerful frontline fighter. His real strength is his position as Supreme Demon King, which gives him command over Demon Realm forces and access to palace resources. He relies on planning from a safe distance, using the magic monitor to watch Earth’s fighters and judge threats before acting.
Gomah can use Demon Realm technology and weapons, but he depends heavily on others to make his plans work. Neva’s Dragon Ball knowledge is what lets him use Earth’s Dragon Balls, while Degesu helps carry out orders around the palace. Without the Evil Third Eye, Gomah is dangerous because of authority and schemes, not because he can match Goku’s group in direct combat.
