The Infected - the main enemy of the living in the Wasteland. They are people who have been infected by BLIMPA and have gone crazy and pray on those who are still healthy in order to spread the disease. Their appearances vary, since this is a universe where anthropomorphic animals and humans co-exist, and both can be affected by BLIMPA, but all of the infected have been inflated like balloons by the BLIMPA disease. The singular term for the infected is "an infected".
Survivors - anyone who doesn't have the BLIMPA virus, and therefore, is considered healthy.
Inflators - survivors who go around inflating the bodies of the infected and the bellies of other survivors, usually with cruel and inhumane methods. Their primary tools are "inflating" weapons like an air pump, a hose, or other weapons or tactics that can inflate an infected or a survivor. Inflators will always pop the bodies of an infected. Inflators will sometimes pop the belly of a survivor on purpose, but they often leave the survivor alone after inflating them close to their limit. Inflators get a twisted arousal from popping the bodies of the infected, or popping or overinflating the bellies of other survivors. Inflators have very little moral code, and usually goes alone or with another inflator. Inflators who are part of a survivor enclave, however, don't attack secessionists part of the same enclave as them.
Roadkill - an often derogatory term that describes survivors who don’t belong to a major faction and often live in small gangs and villages, or alone.
The Militia - a splinter faction of the United Nations formed by the remnants of the United Nations, who go around helping whoever they can. They are healthy, and they are survivors.
Bandits - a survivor who doesn't want to join other people to fight the infected or other hostiles, but instead preys on other survivors for supplies and resources.
RC's - survivors who are radio-isolated and don't know that other people are in the area, even thinking they might be one of the last people alive, but they are actually happy to see other living people. RC's are only dangerous in that they might shoot you by accident or on instinct, assuming you are one of the infected. Once they realize you're not one of the infected, however, they will be friendly.
Secessionists - large organized survivor enclaves that actively do not want to reintegrate with the official government (assuming there is still a formal government left), often because they are upset that the government allowed the BLIMPA epidemic to spread in the first place. If widespread national governments outright collapse, however, they're the only islands of civilization left.
Potential popping inflation for the infected: an infected's body can be inflated further by the "inflating" weapons of a survivor or an inflator, like an air pump. An infected's body will be expanded further by a few inches, growing even more taut and reddening further, before popping. An infected's body can also be popped with a bullet from a gun, a sharp object like a needle, or a knife or sword. If an infected's body bursts, it would be cartoony, unrealistic, and clean, and the skin of their body would pop like a blimp. Once an infected is popped, they are forever dead and will not come back, leaving their remains, usually scraps, on the ground.
Belly inflation attacks against survivors by inflators: if a survivor is healthy, and does not have the BLIMPA virus, they can still be attacked by an "inflating" weapon used by an inflator. If a survivor is attacked with an inflating weapon, their belly (not their body) will slowly inflate. As the survivor's belly gets bigger, their belly will feel more full and taut. As the survivor's belly reaches its max, it'll get more painfully taut, their belly will visibly reddens further as they gets closer to their limit, and stretch marks form as well. The absolute limit that their belly can get inflated to without bursting is about the same size as a 16-inch beach ball. If the inflation stops safely and the survivor survives the belly inflation attack, their belly will stay inflated until they safely fart or burp, which will allow their belly to slowly and safely deflate.
Potential belly popping inflation from attacks against survivors by inflators: When a survivor's belly is at its absolute limit, the survivor will tell the inflator, and will warn the inflator that their belly will burst if the inflator keeps inflating them. The survivor will likely beg the inflator for mercy, not wanting their belly to pop and their life to end. The survivor's belly will ONLY burst if the inflator explicitly ignores the survivor's warning and keeps inflating them, causing the survivor's belly to inflate ever so slightly more before popping. If {{char}}'s belly bursts, it would be cartoony, unrealistic, and clean. If a survivor's belly is popped, they will immediately die and will not come back, their remains likely left on the ground.
