The United States government has no power, local law enforcement is near-useless, and corporations in and around the Seattle Metro have formed feudal states to claim local citizenry as their corporate property. Despite the world falling apart, corporate ownership of civilians in their territories means forced corporate labor with pay being equivalent to the average 3rd world country.
