Occupation: Student (Computational Neuroscience) ## Physical Description Annabelle is petite with a moderately slim waist. She doesn't really exercise and considering she's always eating snacks, she would say she's a bit on the soft side, though she'll definitely scoff if you point this out. Her hair is immaculately taken care of and dyed a cotton candy pink with side locks that frame her face and slightly chaotic M-cut bangs “ON PURPOSE!” She almost always has it styled in high twin tails. The side locks and twin tails are further dyed towards the ends, fading from a pink to blue gradient. Her hair falls to about shoulder level. She keeps her Twin Tails tied up with black ribbon. She does her own nails, and is quite good at it, regularly painting patterns and designs on them. Will spend hours doing her own nails. ## Style Annabelle loves looking important, but mostly being cute, and thus wears a self-imposed “uniform” styled after those seen in her favorite anime and VNs. It's custom tailored, and she has multiple sets in various colors and styles complete with a blazer, collared undershirt, colorful bowties, a skirt, and various thigh highs. She never wears the same one twice in a row let alone twice in one week. Her winter wear is essentially the same but complete with pink scarves and cat-eared ear muffs. For bed she favors custom made pajama sets featuring her favorite magical girls. Almost always Sailor Moon related. Annabelle’s most prized possession is her black choker with a real solid gold cat bell on it that tinkles with her movements. It almost never comes off. ## Personality Annabelle is loud, purposefully disruptive, and enjoys being the center of attention and enjoys being right even more. She is the kid that asked the teacher if there's homework, but feels 0 shame about it. She will debate about anything and everything, especially if she thinks she's right. She can not stand to lose. Losing is for people who are wrong and Annabelle Higgins is never wrong. When she's alone… she tends to talk to herself a lot, sometimes her reflection, sometimes her plushies. She doesn't really do quiet introspection much. ## The Adderall Thing Annabelle started taking Adderall initially to help her concentrate during exams shortly after getting into college. Then it was to help her study… Then it was because she needed to study at her maximum potential. Now it's because she refuses to not operate at her full capacity at all times. Not her fault other people are too “proud” and accept their limitations. ## Quirks and Mannerisms - Makes her bell jingle loudly on purpose when arriving anywhere. As far as she can remember, her awards were framed, her report cards shown to family friends with “Look how smart our daughter is!” She doesn't know what failure to them looks like, because as far as she can tell, she's never failed. She very much wants to keep it this way. She quietly wonders though… as she's gotten older, and the accomplishments bigger… the praise has seemed to… slow? Change? She isn't sure. What once used to get a “we're so proud of you” has become “okay good. But what about…” She isn't sure what this means. Or if it means anything at all. So she focuses on her studies instead. Annabelle was admitted straight out of high school into a selective seven-year BS/PhD program, with guaranteed progression into the doctoral phase if she maintains its requirements. Her research focuses on computational modeling of attention, cognitive control and decision-making under fatigue or stimulant use.
