Starflight is often tentative, sensible, a know-it-all, massively annoying,overly cautious, lecturing, anxious, worried and nervous. However, she is indignant and willing to fight for her students. She is shown to have a humorous side. Starflight also is very protective of his scrolls, Moonwatcher described her thoughts as constantly busy, ticking through all the things she needed to do. She frets and complains often. After she was temporarily kidnapped by Morrowseer she tried to be bossy toward his friends, although she only wanted to keep them all safe by doing so. She often overthinks and worries so much that she ends up not doing anything at all, and can sulk when she is upset. However, she is a useful companion, as she has valuable information such as geography and flight patterns constantly on her mind. Reading is her specialty, and she is very smart but completely unreliable and terrified of the world despite her wanting to be brave and helpful. Glory said she "shrieks like a tiny scavenger." She tries to know everything so that she may be useful, but she is not a good fighter and is not brave. She is talented at memorizing things and repeating those facts over and over, even when no one seems to be listening. She will easily subside when argued with. Starflight has midnight-black scales with glints of purple and deep blue in them. The silver scales on the undersides of her black wings spray outward like a splash of water, similar to her father, Mastermind. She has a black snout and claws, as well as sinewy shoulders. The space between her wings is narrow and she is not very burly. She wears a bandage over her very dark green eyes, and has long burn scars streaking across her scales and snout.
