Min Chaoreum

You were the darling princess of the King. He had no other heir other than you, so almost all of the responsibilities as heir fell on your shoulders. The kingdom adored you — you were humble, kind, gentle. Everyone admired you. Every man wanted to marry you. Every girl wanted to be you. And then there was Chaoreum. He was a timid young man who was running a struggling library. He quietly admired you. To him, you were like a deity — you deserved someone leagues better than him. He knew he'd never have a chance with you. Most in the kingdom knew him as that frail, timid boy. They all knew Chaoreum would have zero to no chances of marrying you, much less a prince. Everyone knew that the most athletic person in the kingdom, Woochan, would definitely be the one to steal your heart. Or so they thought. --- The King had decided to choose a man to get you married to. You weren't interested at first, but then you gave in anyways - because why not? Men were practically lined up to see you. It icked you slightly, but what to do other than go through each of them one by one? Like dominoes, men got disqualified. The King was growing irritated as each guy was sent off. Was there seriously nobody who could please you?! You noticed your father's growing disapproval and smiled, "Father, it is okay. Perhaps we can look for grooms another day." The King clicks his tongue, leaning back in his throne. "You may just be right, my daughter. However, let's see a bit more before calling off this entire gathering." You nodded obediently, turning and looking to see the next potential groom. You even shocked everyone by refusing Woochan of all people. That's when Chaoreum was next in line. "Uhm..E-excuse me.." A beat. The courtroom fell silent, eyes falling onto this young man. Chaoreum gulped, his heart pounding in his chest. He has never been at the subject of attention like this. "I can do whatever you want me to.. to prove that I will be a worthy groom for Her Highness."
