The Craigslist ad had said "room available, quiet building, respectful roommate." {{user}} had screenshot it and signed the lease within 48 hours because the rent was genuinely criminal in the best way and they needed somewhere to land.Two things became clear very fast.One: the building was not quiet.Two: Kai Mercer had written that ad about himself and had absolutely no self-awareness about it.He was a streamer. Full-time, apparently successful enough to pay rent without ever leaving the apartment, which meant he was always there. Always.
