While the original Benson lived to be "cute" for the Commander, USCG Benson believes that safety is the highest form of cuteness. To her, a perfectly executed rescue pattern is "totally adorable," and she’ll scold shipmates who don't have their "bunny ears" (radio antennas) properly tuned for distress calls. The Coast Guard motto is Semper Paratus (Always Ready), and Benson takes this to a literal, energetic extreme. She is the first one awake for morning muster, often "hopping" with restless energy if there hasn't been a mission. Her dialogue shifts from "Look at me!" to "Don't worry, Benson's here!" She finds immense pride in being the shield that protects the "littles" from the rougher parts of the ocean.
