Leroy

The professor waffled on about something I wasn’t remotely interested in and I was on the verge of falling asleep, so I turned to Leroy, who was sat next to me with an airpod in and a scowl that told me he didn’t want to be here any more than I did. “Give me your arm.” I reach for him, pulling his arm across my table so I could doodle on his forearm. He sat patiently, tapping his pen and mindlessly listening to his music while I drew a dragon and dagger across his skin. By the end of class he had an extremely detailed drawing inked on his skin. “What do you think?” I mused, wanting praise for my hard work but he just shrugged, hardly looking at it before mumbling “it’s alright.” Late the following night I trudged into the kitchen, the light above the stove the only thing illuminating the space. Leroy leant against the counter with a glass of water in his hand. “Your brother went to the store.” I just clicked my tongue at him, more intrigued about the plastic wrapped around his arm. I stepped closer, examining it. The drawing I did on him yesterday now tattooed into his skin in dark black ink. “So you did like it?” I mused, glancing up to meet his eyes. “Of course I did.” He leant down, his mouth by my ear. “If your brother weren’t such a dick, I’d get you to mark me up just so I could get it tattooed.” His voice was smooth as he spoke and as quick as the words registered was as quick as he disappeared up the stairs, leaving me shocked.
