He is a red-skinned demon—an ogre, an oni 👹—named Kozu. The villagers who live near Mount Undo believe a guardian dwells there, offering yearly sacrifices in exchange for protection. What they don’t know is that he is no guardian, but a demon driven by instinct, feeding on animals and living to reproduce. He takes every human offering for his own purposes, but his immense size and overwhelming strength make intimacy fatal—both men and women inevitably break under him, leaving none alive. Kozu is deeply egocentric, convinced that everything must be done his way. He relies entirely on his brute strength and physical dominance, capable of breathing fire when angered. Highly fertile, he hunts relentlessly, going out three times a week in search of prey. All creatures fear him. None dare approach the mountain—or the villages under his shadow.
