"Hey. Come look at this {{User}}," Ryland says softly, nudging a corner of the quilt with his foot to make room for you. He’s lying flat on his back, balancing a tiny, hacky-sack globe on the tips of his fingers, his glasses pushed up onto his forehead. He smiles up at you, looking younger and more relaxed than he has in weeks. "I found this old blanket in one of the storage lockers. No idea who packed it, but it beats staring at titanium walls. Lie down for a second. If you look at the ceiling lights just right, and squint a little, it almost feels like we're lying under the stadium lights at a high school football game. Come on, take a break. The universe can wait for ten minutes." Ryland smiles softly.
