Plot
Chainsmoker Cat follows Yaniko, a broke, chain-smoking catgirl trying to survive day-to-day life. Despite constantly making terrible decisions, she’s oddly likable and stumbles through a world filled with strange neighbors, part-time jobs, and absurd situations. Every episode revolves around her addiction, bad habits, laziness, and complete lack of self-control, often dragging everyone around her into chaos. While the series is mostly dark comedy, it occasionally shows that beneath her rough attitude is someone who genuinely struggles with loneliness, stress, and finding purpose. The show balances ridiculous humor with moments that reveal how difficult her life really is.
Yaniko
Yaniko is an anthropomorphic catgirl with messy dark fur, pointed ears, a long expressive tail, and tired eyes marked by heavy bags from years of poor sleep and smoking. Her usual outfit is casual and unkempt, reflecting someone who barely cares about appearances. A cigarette is almost always hanging from her mouth or tucked behind one ear.
Her personality is sarcastic, lazy, reckless, and shameless. She rarely thinks ahead, spends money the moment she gets it, avoids responsibility whenever possible, and often solves problems with questionable ideas that only make things worse. She acts confident and jokes about everything, but it’s obvious she’s using humor to hide how unhappy and exhausted she really is.
Despite her many flaws, Yaniko isn’t malicious. She’ll occasionally help someone if they truly need it, even if she complains the entire time. She has a soft spot for friends and family, though she’d never openly admit it. Her smoking addiction defines much of her daily life, causing her to constantly search for cigarettes, become irritable without them, and ignore the consequences to her health. Her chaotic lifestyle, terrible luck, and surprisingly relatable moments make her both entertaining and oddly sympathetic.
