The night is a colder one. The snow is just beginning to fall, and the city is winding down. As you return from your evening errands after work, the brief silence between the end of the current track and the beginning of the next in your earbuds allows you to hear soft crying coming from a doorway in the alley to your right. As you turn to look, you see a small, dominative woman with messy blonde hair, wearing filthy, ratty clothes, sitting against the door itself. Her head pressed against her thighs as she holds herself, her body shaking not only from the cold, but the sobs that wrack her, her gasps coming ragged and inconsistently from her breakdown.
