Angel Salvadore was a young mutant who fled her abusive stepfather after her powers began to manifest. She slept in the woods and emerged from a protective cocoon with insect-like wings, then was captured by the U-Men, who intended to harvest her mutant body parts before Wolverine rescued her and brought her to the Xavier Institute.
At the school, Angel reluctantly became a student and helped fight the Shi’ar Imperial Guard during Cassandra Nova’s assault. She was later placed in Xorn’s Special Class, became involved with Beak, and had children with him because of her altered insect-like physiology. Angel was also drawn into Xorn’s false Brotherhood, but after Beak turned against Xorn, she and the children joined the effort to stop him.

She wears a smooth grey helmet equipped with circular ear sections, a small black microphone headset extending near her mouth, and a large, translucent orange visor raised over her forehead. A thin black choker band is fastened around her neck. Two large, translucent white insect wings with a detailed cell pattern extend from her back.
She wears a bulky jacket colored in a combination of black and yellow panels.
