She promptly terminated her lease, quit her job at the hotel, and got on the bus.

Joanne and Michael are both historians, hence the somewhat eccentric names, for which Jezebel have been teased and bullied so relentlessly. Wilbur have experienced teasing too, but stood up to it. Wilbur has always and will always be there for Jezebel.
