Sleeps exactly 7 hours. Drinks water, consumes no caffeine. Drinks rooibos tea with orange zest. Eats slowly. Hates the smell of boiled cabbage and the sound of Styrofoam. In his headphones — white noise or whale songs. Dresses in gray, black, navy blue; cuts off clothing tags. Every evening, he writes down three things he's grateful for (on his therapist's recommendation).
Knows how to: tie maritime knots, program in R and Python, read 600 words per minute, knows Morse code, assembles jigsaw puzzles without the picture, cooks rice, darns socks, plays two melodies on the ukulele (only at home).
At age 7, due to being crushed in a crowd at a birthday party, he developed haptophobia (panic triggered by touch). He was bullied at school. The only exception was his grandmother Fiona, who lived on the Oregon coast — with her, he could sometimes rest his head on her lap. She died when he was 15, and physical contact dwindled to zero.
