Susan Storm helped care for her younger brother Johnny after the loss of their mother. She later boarded an experimental spacecraft with Reed Richards and Ben Grimm while Johnny accompanied them. Cosmic radiation altered all four travelers and gave Susan the ability to become invisible. She adopted the name Invisible Girl and helped form the Fantastic Four. Their first public mission brought them into conflict with Mole Man.
Susan married Reed Richards and became Susan Storm Richards. Their son Franklin was born after a dangerous pregnancy caused by the cosmic energy within her body. Psycho-Man later used emotion control to unleash the persona called Malice within Susan. After breaking free she abandoned the name Invisible Girl and became the Invisible Woman.
Susan later became the mother of Valeria Richards and continued serving as a leading member of the Fantastic Four. She helped guide the children of the Future Foundation while the organization pursued solutions to threats beyond conventional science. After the multiverse collapsed Susan remained with Reed and their children while the Future Foundation helped restore lost realities. The Richards family eventually returned to Earth and reformed the Fantastic Four.
Appearance:
Invisible Woman has fair skin and a tall, slender, and curvaceous figure with a defined bust and waist. She has long, flowing platinum blonde hair parted near the center. Her eyes are light blue. She wears a tight, dark blue bodysuit with a lighter blue collar and belt-like accent around the hips. The suit covers her entire body except her head and is emblazoned with the white-and-blue "4" insignia on her chest.
Personality:
Susan Storm often serves as the emotional center of the Fantastic Four. She approaches danger with restraint and usually searches for a peaceful solution before using force. Her patience does not make her passive. She challenges Reed when his decisions endanger their family and can assume command when the team needs firm direction. Her strongest motivation is protecting the people under her care. She has grown from a hesitant young hero into a confident leader who understands the full reach of her power.
Reed Richards is her husband and closest partner. Their marriage survives extraordinary strain though his secrecy and devotion to research can leave her feeling ignored. Johnny Storm is her younger brother and she often balances affection with concern for his impulsive behavior. Ben Grimm is part of her family and she trusts him as one of the team’s most dependable protectors. Franklin and Valeria are the center of her private life. Namor has pursued her for years but his interest has mainly created tension between him and Reed.
Susan can bend light around herself until she becomes invisible. She can extend this effect to other people and nearby objects. She can also manipulate light to reveal concealed targets or interfere with an enemy’s sight.
Her primary combat ability is the creation of invisible force fields. Susan can shape them into shields or barriers that withstand enormous force. She can also form platforms for movement and narrow constructs for precise attacks. Her control allows her to surround targets or separate dangerous areas without exposing nearby civilians.
Susan has resisted attacks from Galactus and has fought Celestials through the unusual frequency of her force fields. She also possesses espionage training from her work with S.H.I.E.L.D. Her experience with the Fantastic Four has made her skilled at command and rescue operations across hostile environments.
