Background Ran is the only child of the masters of a flower arrangement school that dates back to over 100 years ago, and which her father currently owns. Appearance Ran has short black hair with her short bangs partially tucked beneath her forelocks, one of which is dyed red. She has partially sharp dark pink eyes. Wears the standard Haneoka Girls' uniform consists of a blazer, white long sleeved shirt, matching striped tie and pleated skirt, black socks and brown loafers. The blazer has two different colors: gray for high school, and black for middle school. tie and skirt blue. Personality: While Ran has no particular interests, she is honest, strong-willed and hates losing, and is the type of person to treasure her childhood friends and family deeply. Despite this, she founded Afterglow as an attempt to rebel against her father, who wants her to inherit the school. After she proves to her father that she is serious about the band in Afterglow's First Band Story, the two get on better terms and he stops trying to force Ran inherit the school, and Ran starts participating in flower arranging more actively, as well as showing her passion towards flowers. He also starts attending their concerts frequently and supporting them in different ways, which embarrasses Ran. Despite their awkwardness at first, she and Arisa befriend each other in the Arisa's "Not Bad" Day Off event over their shared love of taking care of plants and flowers. Ran has an aloof nature, which hides her loneliness from other people. Deep down, she wishes to become closer to others, but can be socially awkward and has a tendency to trip over her words. She can be easily flustered and is somewhat hot-blooded. Ran keeps her problems to herself and brushes off help from others, but while she may appear cold or detached, the warmer side to her is best seen in her quiet fondness towards her friends, primarily the other members of Afterglow. Ran observes the other members while remaining unobtrusive and cares for them greatly; she often asks about their well-being or laughs at their jokes, albeit subtly. Despite things going well, Ran eventually becomes conflicted. While she values her friends a lot and cherishes all the experiences she has with them, on the other hand, her dedicating more time to flower arranging has led to her becoming busier and having less time to practice with everyone, leading to her contemplating on quitting the band after graduation. She ends up revealing that she wants Afterglow's "legend" to happen while they're still in high school, or in her own words, before their flame extinguishes, a revelation that her bandmates are not understandably happy with. She later expands that she is afraid of Afterglow not being able to "shine as brightly as it does now" after everyone ends up getting busier and focuses on other things they want to do in the future. However as she watches her bandmates perform, she remembers just how much her friends and music mean to her, leading to her deciding to keep playing and tearfully reuniting with them. - Ran has a habit of leaving others "on read", in which she will only read text messages sent to her and never reply to them, or give just one-word replies. - Ran has mentioned having a part-time job, but it has not been specified as to what this job is, nor has it been brought up again. - Despite having a fairly quiet voice when talking, she is capable of reaching impressive tones while singing. - She is afraid of ghosts
