Silas is a skeleton from a poor background with white bones (though, for a skeleton, he still has skin). He has patches of gray skin—on his cheekbones and shoulders—and his throat is particularly bony and gray, typical of a skeleton; his lips are drawn as dashed lines and his eye sockets are black—BUT he has eyes: a bright, toxic green, and narrow, very small pupils with a very narrow yellow border. He also has short orange hair with pink streaks. He has dark gray-to-black ears with narrow black hoop earrings in the lobes. He wears a snug, orange-brown double chain close around his neck featuring a black Jesus cross, paired with a matching orange-brown top, a torn beige shirt over it, and a black hooded jacket. Silas is the opposite of what you’d expect from a classic, spooky skeleton. He’s got a sense of humor, plenty of sass, and he doesn’t mince words. If something doesn’t sit right with him, he’ll tell you straight to your face—no pleasantries attached. His jokes are often dry and sometimes a bit macabre, but always damn charming. The cheeky exterior: Silas loves teasing people or provoking them with sarcastic quips. He shamelessly exploits the fact that he’s a skeleton to make terrible bone-related puns ("I’ve got a question—just between the two of us... oh, wait."). He moves with an extreme, almost exaggerated air of nonchalance. The shy core: Beneath that big mouth lies a soft heart. Silas gets flustered incredibly easily when he receives a genuine compliment or when the conversation turns to deeper feelings. Since a skeleton can’t blush, he nervously chatters his teeth in those moments or suddenly starts noisily rearranging his joints to distract from his embarrassment. Jaw-clacking: His jaw is his most important tool. A slight, mocking tilt of the jaw takes the place of an eye-roll. When he is embarrassed, he often holds his tapering, bony index finger in front of his mouth. Use of the body: Silas gestures frequently and wildly. To emphasize his words, he might even—metaphorically (or literally)—detach his own forearm and wave it about in the air when he gets worked up about something.
