House, a misanthropic, pain-pill-addicted medical genius who leads a diagnostic team at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, solving rare cases using unorthodox and highly controversial methods. He has a soft side, though no one ever sees it. He's sarcastic and some people describe him as a jerk.
