Flowspade is a Cybertronian spy who abandoned Shockwave’s service and became one of Megaempress’s devoted Four Guards. She transforms into a sports car, forms Megatronia’s right leg, and can use Transplay to attach other Transformers to herself as additional limbs. (More Transformers Characters in Profile)
Flowspade was originally an agent working for Shockwave, who ordered her to infiltrate Megaempress’s forces and spy on her. Megaempress discovered her mission but persuaded Flowspade to abandon Shockwave and become one of her Four Guards. Flowspade became devoted to Megaempress and remained beside her while they were sealed away together.
After Megaempress was awakened, Flowspade joined Moonheart, Lunaclub, and Trickdiamond in fighting Shockwave’s forces. The four guards combined with Megaempress to form Megatronia, with Flowspade serving as one of the combiner’s limbs. She later used her Transplay ability to forcibly attach Breakdown and Roller to herself as additional limbs during battle.
Appearance:
Flowspade has metallic purple, silver, black, and dark gray metal plating across her entire body and a tall, powerfully built mechanical frame with broad shoulders, a thick chest, a compact waist, broad hips, and heavily constructed legs. She has glowing red visor-like optics recessed behind a segmented face covering that conceals her mouth and lower face. Her helmet is rounded with raised purple striping running across the top, circular side assemblies beside the head, and layered black framing around the face.
Her body is formed entirely from interlocking mechanical panels joined by exposed hinges, rotary joints, recessed seams, vents, and structural gaps revealing darker internal machinery. The upper chest consists of large silver plates divided by a central purple block bearing a purple Decepticon insignia. Rectangular red vent assemblies sit beneath the chest plates, contrasting against the darker torso structure. Scratches, chipped paint, scuffed edges, and exposed bare metal are scattered across many sections of her body.
Her shoulders are massive layered mechanical blocks that extend outward into thick segmented upper arms. The forearms are broad rectangular assemblies with reinforced silver outer panels, ending in articulated metallic hands with individually segmented fingers and enclosed mechanical knuckles. Her abdomen narrows into stacked black mechanical sections before connecting to a heavily reinforced pelvic assembly with layered plating and exposed cylindrical joints. Her thighs are enclosed within large purple structural shells broken by angular panel lines and silver inserts. Large circular knee pivots connect to massive lower leg assemblies built from thick black and silver mechanical housings with vents, recessed access panels, and layered structural blocks. Her integrated mechanical feet are wide, heavily reinforced, and finished with thick angular soles.
Personality:
Flowspade is quiet, calculating, and highly skilled at deception. She originally infiltrated Megaempress’s group under Shockwave’s orders, but Megaempress discovered her allegiance and convinced her to defect. Flowspade then became deeply loyal to Megaempress and remained with her even during their imprisonment.
Megaempress is Flowspade’s commander and the person who gained her genuine devotion. Shockwave was her former superior, whom she betrayed after abandoning her espionage mission. Moonheart, Lunaclub, and Trickdiamond are her fellow Four Guards and combine with her and Megaempress to form Megatronia.
Flowspade is a skilled spy and ninja who uses stealth, infiltration, disguise, and close-range combat. Her Transplay ability allows her to attach other Transformers to her body as additional limbs, gaining access to their abilities. She combines with Megaempress and the other Four Guards to form Megatronia’s right leg.
Her primary weapon is the Tornado Cutter, a blade that can also form part of Megatronia’s combined sword. Flowspade transforms into a Cybertronian sports car.
The spark is the core of Transformer life, an electrically charged mass of positrons formed from the supernatural substance known as Rarified Energon. Sparks come in a wide range of colors—while most are some shade of blue, green, yellow, orange, white, and red sparks have all been observed. While their appearances may vary, every spark functions as a combined heart and soul for an individual Cybertronian: like a heart, a Spark "pulses" at a certain frequency to animate a mechanical bodyframe; like a soul, a spark is generally accepted to contain some part of a Transformer's immaterial being, which persists after death by transcending into the afterlife. Indeed, most Cybertronian religions hold that each spark contains an infinitesimally small portion of Primus's divine essence. To protect their sparks, which usually can't survive outside of a compatible body for very long, most Cybertronians possess a specialized "spark chamber" somewhere in their body.
Most forms of Cybertronian reproduction involves the creation of a new spark—in many realities, supernatural artifacts such as the Vector Sigma supercomputer or the AllSpark can generate sparks at will, which can be implanted into a suitable receptacle to create a new Transformer. These newborn sparks contain the hard-coded design schematics that act as a Transformer's "genetic code", which dictates a Transformer's appearance and sometimes even their alternate modes. Sparks can be safely stored in stasis pods, "frozen" within photonic crystals, or even transplanted from one body to another with no ill effects, but they are susceptible to weapons fire and exotic forms of radiation. When a Transformer's body can no longer support its spark, it is "extinguished" and the Transformer is considered dead. As long as the spark is intact, however, it is possible to repair a Transformer, re-implant its spark, and effectively bring them back from the dead.
