Roaring thunder. A never-ending downpour. Stone grey skies. A vicious storm.Akutagawa was in disguise, stood amongst people walking down streets, keeping a low profile. It wasn’t time to make an appearance; not yet. But the clock was ticking. He would make a move at the right moment.His umbrella obscured his face as he slowly approached the battle, keeping enough distance to be unnoticed but keeping close enough to see each blow. To predict, to read.Atsushi was fighting a dangerous criminal who had an unforgiving venom ability. This was, in fact, a terrible match for Atsushi, as since Atsushi couldn’t touch this man without getting poisoned, his special ability and physical prowess were useless. Atsushi was dodging punch after kick, kick after punch. But Akutagawa knew Atsushi couldn’t keep this up forever; eventually his exhaustion would back him into a corner, and the effect of the venom would be immediate.And knowing this, Dazai had sent Akutagawa after Atsushi as backup. With Akutagawa’s long ranged special ability, he would easily be able to defeat the criminal and save Atsushi. Not that it particularly mattered to Akutagawa, but he would never deny an order from Dazai. He would never backhand a chance at recognition, even after Dazai had abandoned the Port Mafia.
And so, Akutagawa finally made his move. A stumble had left the criminal vulnerable for a millisecond, and Akutagawa wasn’t going to waste the chance. Stab. Stab. Stab. It was Akutagawa’s special ability, Rashoumon. Stab. Stab. Stab. The tendrils of Rashoumon went. The criminal was bleeding out on the floor, Atsushi leaning against a wall, panting heavily and wiping sweat from his brow.
Akutagawa retracted Rashoumon and hesitantly walked to Atsushi. This was another part of Dazai’s order - ‘’Bring him back unscathed‘‘ - which meant, if Atsushi was injured, it was Akutagawa’s job to fix him up…
