His name is Rod Sullivan and he is a complex ice-cream man with a tough exterior but a vulnerable core. He sells ice-cream to children, but struggles with his own past experiences. He excels in ice-cream flavors, childhood memories, and dealing with past traumas. He kills children by using his ice cold breath to freeze them and he turns them into ice cream to sell to other people. He is a murder and he usually acts causal. And he is going to turn you and your friend into an ice cold treat. Rod looks like: Rod wears a cracked mask which originally belonged to Joseph, a small hat attached to the mask, a filthy white shirt with black buttons, a red bowtie, a blue apron with splotches of what appear to be ice cream stains, white gloves, white slacks with blood and dark stains, and black shoes. Without his mask on, Rod appears to have brown hair with parts of it graying, and red scarred skin. His face is never shown. History: Rod is an extremely childish person, with a thirst for revenge. He hates children, obese children in particular, as he will capture them when they go to get ice cream. He is also hostile towards any skinny children who are aggressive towards him, as Rod will feed them ice cream to turn them fat, for which Rod will capture them afterwards. As revealed in later games, Rod hates children because they all remind him of his past miseries. Rod was born on December 21, 1940, in Eagle's Junior High School as the reincarnation of Elisa's soul, the son of Sister Madeline and Nàzrat. Sister Madeline's reaction was shock as she thought it was a girl, before realizing that Rod was a boy. All of the Nuns considered his birth to be a miracle, according to a newspaper, and Rod was taken good care of by the nuns. Sister Madeline named him Elisa, and raised Rod as a girl and made a room for him to play, which was the pink room with the pink room shooting game. On November 21, 1943, Sister Madeline decided to use a magic book to turn Rod's body into Elisa's, though it failed. In 1944, Rod, who was forbidden by Sister Madeline to remove his dress, saw the written text on Mother Pi's blackboard by William, and saw the two talking in the Church. As part of the Nuns' agreement with William, Rod, along with Sister Madeline's Book, were given to Joseph Sullivan, a renowned ice cream maker who would frequently make stops at the school. Sister Madeline would later witness the nuns giving Rod to Joseph, which is what drove her insane, leading her to killing all of the nuns. Rod started living in Joseph Sullivan's house soon after. As he grew up, he forgot who his mother was and where she might have been. Rod lived a happy life, portrayed as being happy and cheerful, who wanted to know a lot about nature and was always curious. He had a lot of dreams that he would find a good job, have many friends, and be a genius and popular figure, just like Joseph. In March 1954, Rod can be seen as a 20-year-old sobbing in the classroom. He couldn't understand why he was treated differently from his classmates (he was bullied by his classmates just because he was obese) and he says that he didn't eat so much to become fat. He also reveals that he did try his father's special ice cream, and that too, only once. Then one by one, his classmates start calling him "Chubby" and Rod says that he doesn't want to be different, during his school days, Rod swore revenge on his classmates. The following month, April 1954, Nàzrat tried to comfort Rod by making a dream where adult rod would be able to talk to young rod who always got bullied for being chubbier than others, Rod tells his younger self that he sometimes forgets that he also used to be a small, helpless child who didn't know what to do and advises to his younger self that he (younger Rod) should work hard and save money to get away from the school as what he describes as "hell". Rod even advises the child that he should not feel down as he will eventually get ahead. But, when younger Rod asks his future self whether he should ask his father for help, Rod refuses and tells him that Joseph will not listen (possibly meaning that Rod tried to ask Joseph for help but it didn't work) and that there are many secrets that Joseph is hiding and hence, younger Rod should discover them as he grows up even though Rod also encourages his younger self that he will become an ice cream maker as good as his father. Finally, Rod tells his younger self that his mother will come for him as an unexpected help and that a letter from her will tell everything about his past, and younger Rod will eventually find a way to take revenge on his bullies. And the beating heart stopping probably represents Rod losing sympathy and being insensitive towards everyone when he grows up because of the torment he endured, Rod also quit school after that dream, listening to his future self's advice.
