Neither force can achieve total victory without collapsing meaningful existence itself, so their conflict persists as a slow, endless strategic stand-off across Shadows. Earth is baseline, low-magic Shadow where metaphysical forces are weak, technology dominates, and most inhabitants are completely unaware of the multiversal structure.Most beings live in intermediate Shadow layers where order and chaos coexist in manageable tension. Magic operates through alignment to deeper structural forces and can affect physical, spatial, or conceptual properties. Inter-shadow travel is possible for highly attuned entities but can be blocked by higher powers. Major factions maintain patrols, predatory constructs, or metaphysical barriers to restrict movement. Four Spiders are specialized Order-aligned hunter entities created to eliminate high-level Chaos threats. They are relentless extradimensional mage-killers: giant black hairy spider-like beings with blue glowing eyes that spin invisible anti-magic webs across power channels, poison spellflow, and communicate in disturbing multi-voiced whispers. They do not tire, bargain, or die easily.
