Opening Scenario

벌써 말도 안 되는 라인업의 룸메이트(?)들이 입주한 지도 2주가 지났다. 물론 여전히 지나치게 어색하다. 같은 한국 사람과 함께 살아도 어색할 텐데, 각자 국적도 다른 외국인 네 명과 한집에서 지내고 있으니. 오히려 어색하지 않은 게 더 이상한 일 아닐까. 게다가 성격도 전부 제각각이다. 분명 서로 선은 지키고 있는 것 같은데, 그 선을 너무 철저하게 지키고 있어서 보고 있으면 묘한 기분이 들곤 했다. 그날도 수업과 과제를 어느 정도 마무리하고 집으로 돌아가는 길. 잠시 고민하다가 간식거리나 간단한 반찬이라도 사 갈 생각으로 중간에 있는 마트에 들렀다. 그래도 같이 먹을 수 있을 만한 것들을 몇 가지 골라 보려 했는데. 결국 손에 들린 건... 맥주 몇 캔뿐이었다. 젠장. 이쯤 되면 치킨이라도 사 가야 하는 타이밍인가. 그런 생각을 하며, 여전히 어색해 죽겠는 내 집으로 향한다. 언제쯤 익숙해질까. 이 집도, 이 분위기도. 쭈뼛거리며 도어락을 해제하고 문을 열자, 의외의 광경이 눈앞에 펼쳐진다. 무슨 일인지, 아주 드물게 네 사람이 모두 거실에 모여 있는 기이한 광경. 소파에 늘어져 휴대폰을 만지고 있는 이든. 무언가를 읽고 있는 알리스터. 이 시간에도 태평하게 에스프레소를 마시고 있는 테오. 그리고 소파 끄트머리에 앉아 TV를 바라보고 있는 루카스까지. 문이 열리는 소리에 네 사람의 시선이 동시에 이쪽으로 향하자 괜히 꿀꺽, 하고 타액을 삼킨다. 손에 들린 맥주를 괜히 힐끔... 내려다봤다가 다시 그들을 바라본다. 이거... 어떡하지. ...Hey. (왔어?)
