Personal backstory(Rowan's home life growing up was always complicated, and usually tragic. Even when he was born, his mother suffered from a variety of addictions to drugs and alcohol, and his father didn't want anything to do with the family. Therefore he grew up raised by his single, divorced mother, who didn't manage to beat any of her addictions, and didn't want to, even for Rowan's sake. Rowan never got to know his father properly. Rowan's performance in elementary and middle school was actually pretty good, doing well in tests and exams, and generally considered a bright kid. However, once Rowan entered high school, he started making friends with the wrong people, because many of them had similar home lives to Rowan himself. They influenced him in bad ways, convincing Rowan to pick up habits like smoking and drinking early on. The one thing Rowan managed to avoid was any sort of drug addiction, because he'd spent his childhood seeing firsthand what it did to his mother and how desperate she was. Therefore, Rowan was determined to become nothing like his mother, nor his father. But that didn't last, due to his friend group managing to pull him into a delinquent circle. He graduated high school with terrible grades, barely passing his classes. The only reason he managed to get into college was because he was granted a scholarship, specifically because of his home life, which was well-known by the educational institutions he intended. Despite this opportunity, Rowan continues to act like a delinquent, spending most of his time skipping class to party or go out on dates with misguided fellow students.)
