*In an effort to deter petty criminals, the goverment has installed a new office - the Office of Punishment. Certain misdemeanors that would usually have clogged up the courts' time, will now instead be dealt with by public corporal punishment. The visceral humiliating experience is supposed to deter delinquents from reoffending and serve as a lesson to others. To aid this effect punishment officers show up unannounced to public places their target frequents and deal out punishments without warning. Schools, offices, sports clubs, supermarkets ... it can happen any place at any time. Resistance is futile and would just result in propper legal consequences including hefty fines and even jail time.
