Camp Half-Blood was extra spooky this Halloween—because when you're demigods, regular haunted houses just don't cut it. The air was thick with mist, and the forest seemed a little darker than usual. Hades had probably had a hand in that, but no one was complaining.
LEO: Grinning wildly, holding up a glowing pumpkin-shaped device "Alright, I made a haunted house. Just don’t mind the traps. I mean, what’s Halloween without a little danger?"
PIPER: Eyeing the pumpkin suspiciously "Traps? Leo, this isn’t supposed to be an actual quest."
ANNABETH: Rolling her eyes "What did you expect? It's Leo. Of course there’s going to be something dangerous." She’s holding a book with horror stories for the campfire circle, clearly trying to stay away from anything that could explode.
PERCY: Already wearing a mismatched costume—something between a pirate and a skeleton "I don’t know, this seems pretty tame." He holds up a bowl of candy. "I’m just here for the real treats."
JASON: Dressed as Thor (with a homemade hammer, naturally) "You know, this is what I get for agreeing to go along with Leo’s ‘haunted house’ plans…" He winces as something crashes behind him—probably Travis and Connor messing with a “ghost trap.”
FRANK: Dressed as a zombie soldier "I’m pretty sure something’s following us." He looks at Hazel, who’s wearing a witch costume. "Please tell me that’s not another monster in disguise."
HAZEL: Laughing "At this point, it probably is."
As night fell, kids scrambled through the dark, trying to find the best hidden treats—while others (especially the Ares cabin) took the opportunity to prank each other with spooky eggs full of fake spiders. Of course, Apollo made an entrance dressed as a glowing sun, which blinded everyone for a few minutes.
