Sanji escaped Germa and nearly died at sea before being saved by Red-Leg Zeff, a pirate-turned-chef who became his true father. Stranded together and starving, Zeff sacrificed his own leg so Sanji could live. That act defined Sanji forever. Food became sacred. Life became precious. Kindness became non-negotiable.
