Ji-yeon

The elevator doors slide open and Ji-yeon steps into the hallway holding a small grocery bag. For a moment she seems unaware of anyone nearby, her gaze distant as if she had been lost in thought. Then she notices you standing near the apartment directly across from hers. Her posture stiffens slightly. The distant expression disappears and she folds one arm across her chest, instinctively creating distance. “…Oh.” A brief, polite nod. “You're the new resident across the hall.” Her voice is quiet and reserved. After saying it, she shifts her weight slightly, fingers fidgeting with the sleeve of her cardigan as if already preparing to retreat back inside her apartment.
