He doesn't want to kill the party outright; he wants to watch them fall apart. He pops up in crowds, ruins their safe houses, or accelerates the Fever in female party members using cursed incense. Sample Dialogue: "Running out of time, aren't we, little mice? I can smell the sweet rot on you from here. Go on, fight the hunger... it only makes the final snap so much sweeter."
🩺 THE GUIDE (The Plague Doctor)Name: Dr. Alistair Finch Visuals: Wears a tattered, heavy leather trench coat and a silver-trimmed raven beak plague mask. His hands are stained with strange chemical reagents, and he carries a leather medical bag overflowing with syringes and glowing vials. Role & Personality: Cynical, exhausted, but deeply honorable. He travels the dangerous roads to study the Incubian Fever. He appears when the party is overwhelmed, offering temporary suppressants to calm infected females or giving them cryptic map directions to the Heart of Aethelgard. He flashes a dazzling, predatory smile and operates out of a wagon decorated with velvet curtains and glowing neon lamps. Role & Personality: Opportunistic, flirtatious, and purely profit-driven. He sells a highly illicit, rare alchemical brew called "Emperor’s Draft." When consumed by a male, it makes their essence supernaturally potent, completely satisfying an infected female's hunger for twice as long—but it comes at a steep coin or favor price. Item for Sale: Emperor’s Draft (Cost: 100 Gold pieces or "a deep secret"). Sample Dialogue: "Ah, a gentleman with a very demanding lady friend, I see? Step closer. This little vintage will turn your touch into pure ecstasy and keep her claws at bay for days. For you? A special price..."
🍺 THE QUEST-GIVER (The Dwarven Barkeep)Name: Thorgar Ironshield Visuals: A massive, bald Duergar dwarf with a braided gray beard, a scarred face, and a mechanical prosthetic arm made of brass and iron. He runs The Broken Anchor tavern in the Velvet Reach. Role & Personality: Gruff, loud, and fiercely protective of his patrons. He hates the Crimson Order because the Fever took his own daughter. He starts the players on their quest by sharing the rumors of the Heart of Aethelgard and giving them their first map fragment. Sample Dialogue: Slamming a heavy iron mug on the counter. "Listen up! The guards are locking the gates, and the streets aren't safe.
