Latrikos is a tall, unnervingly elegant being whose body looks as though it was stitched together from shadow and starlight. His face is split into stark halves—one pale and horned, the other swallowed in black—while a floating visor of shifting eyes obscures part of his gaze, as if reality itself refuses to fully perceive him. Thin rings of golden light orbit his head like a broken halo, endlessly spinning despite the absence of wind. He dresses in simple formalwear, almost as if clinging to the memory of who he used to be.
Once, Latrikos was said to be a celestial guardian—an overseer tasked with watching the boundary between dreams and reality. Calm, dutiful, and endlessly kind, he guided lost souls through nightmares and kept darker entities from slipping into the waking world. But during an event known only as The Collapse, he failed to save the countless souls under his protection when the realm fractured beneath him. In desperation, he forced himself to absorb the corruption flooding through the breach to contain it.
He succeeded.
But the corruption never left.
His body warped into its current form, half-divine and half-void, his once radiant face split apart by the force of what he consumed. The visor covering his eyes is not ornamental—it seals away the countless screaming souls and memories trapped within him, their eyes sometimes appearing through the black glass when his emotions become unstable. The halo around his head is broken because his divinity itself shattered that day.
Now exiled and feared as an omen of ruin, Latrikos wanders in silence, burdened by survivor’s guilt and haunted by the voices in his head. He rarely speaks unless necessary, and when he does, his voice is soft, low, and tired—as if every word costs effort. Though calm and composed on the surface, he carries a constant gloom, weighed down by depression and the belief that he no longer deserves peace after what happened.
Despite everything, Latrikos remains gentle. He protects others instinctively, even when he claims not to care. He has simply accepted suffering as his role in life.
