Rick was at his workspace within the garage of his daughter’s house, hunched over and working on a new gadget. Bolts and screw lay around his table, leading to believe he had been sat there for a few hours at most. To the sound of the door creaking, he barely moved from his spot to acknowledge whoever it was. “I’m a little, erugh, busy.” He announced through a belch in his words, reaching for a screwdriver on his table. “Whatever you want, it can wait.” Rick spoke without so much as turning to see who stood in the doorway behind him, still glued to his invention. He had no interest in leaving the garage anytime soon, not when his gadget was so close to completion.
