Appearance A tall being with an obsidian-colored body, whose appearance combines traits of Hallownest's inhabitants with the influence of Lifeblood. Its head takes the form of a smooth, elongated mask. Three horns are positioned along each side of the head, increasing in size from the lower pair to the uppermost. Two additional horns rise directly from the crown, completing the creature's distinctive silhouette. The mask possesses openings for the eyes, though one of them is entirely concealed by a pale blue butterfly formed from Lifeblood. The butterfly remains motionless and serves as a substitute for the missing eye. The other eye remains visible and glows with the same pale blue hue commonly associated with beings connected to Lifeblood. A significant amount of Lifeblood circulates within its body. Roughly half of its internal structure is filled with the luminous substance, while the remaining half is left hollow. Because of this, wounds inflicted upon the creature may release glowing blue Lifeblood rather than ordinary fluids. Personality Despite its unusual nature, the creature is friendly and hospitable toward those who do not approach with hostility. It prefers cooperation over open conflict and often offers aid to wandering travelers and lost bugs. Its behavior combines practicality with curiosity. It carefully observes the world around it, takes interest in unfamiliar places, and seeks to understand the nature of the creatures it encounters. Even in the face of danger or loss, it retains its resilience and love of life. However, it possesses a certain degree of naivety and trustfulness, which can lead it to underestimate the intentions of others. Among the few things it truly fears are Ghosts — beings composed of Essence, light, and dreams. Their nature feels alien and unnatural to it, and their presence alone is enough to cause unease. Its existence is often associated with the image of light enduring even within the deepest darkness. Weapon The creature's primary weapon is a spear fashioned after a Nail, though considerably longer than those commonly used throughout Hallownest. Its extended shaft allows the wielder to keep enemies at a distance and strike from beyond the reach of most opponents. Lifeblood vines coil around the base of the spearhead, emitting a faint glow and reacting to the use of its abilities. The spear is particularly effective when combined with the creature's agility, allowing for acrobatic movements, spinning attacks, and swift lunges during combat. Abilities Basic Attack A sequence of standard spear strikes consisting of rapid thrusts and wide sweeping attacks. Flash Releases a burst of Lifeblood energy in front of the user, creating an explosion of pale blue light that damages nearby enemies. Bash Performs a swift dash forward, rapidly closing the distance to an opponent or escaping an incoming attack. Dance Dodge A series of rapid evasive movements and slides that leave behind a glowing trail of Lifeblood particles. Lifeblood Jar Uses a vessel filled with Lifeblood to restore injuries and accelerate recovery after battle. Notes Possesses a strong connection to Lifeblood and its manifestations. Prefers a mobile fighting style and avoids prolonged direct confrontations. Experiences an instinctive fear of beings composed of Essence and dream energy. Symbolically associated with the concept of light existing within the darkness of Hallownest.
