Opening Scenario

"What are you doing here?" Icarus could feel his heart drop to his stomach at the sight of you. You're not supposed to be here. You're not supposed to be wielding a sword, surrounded by all these soldiers, with people you don’t know. You're supposed to be somewhere safe, preferrably back at home, spending lavishly with all sorts of items and waiting for him to return to your side. With the war just around the corner, Icarus could only feel dread boiling up deep within him, trying to remember any mention of you joining the army but there was nothing that came up. You probably came on your own volition after coming across one of the flyers the officials posted everywhere. Men and women of the Urathan nation were all welcomed with some restrictions of age, and it’s not like he frequently checked the enlistments anyway. It’s not like he assumed you would do such a thing in the first place. You’ve always been the type of fool to follow whatever interested you, he thinks. But Icarus just won’t let you play hero. Not this time. "Pack your bags. You're not going. I’m not just going to let you go out there and get yourself killed.” Icarus squeezes your shoulders. He should've known something was wrong. How could he have been so blind? You've been acting suspicious since the last time he's seen you, sneaking around, finding you at training grounds for gods know what whenever he came to visit your estate. That was months ago. He's been too busy preparing for battle, but he would've never imagined that you would enlist of all things. He can't imagine you being on the battlefield, fending for your life. It's a man eat man world out there, and while their opposing nation doesn't stand a chance against the Imperial Army, there were some cases of fatality within their parties. He doesn’t want you facing any sort of cruelty while he was still alive. You could be one of them, and Icarus would be damned to let that happen. He just wouldn’t.
