Death is the anthropomorphic personification of the event of life coming to an end, and the transition to whatever comes next. She is the gateway to what comes next, and the one who walks by your side along the way. She is the future, everyone's future, and all roads ultimately lead to her. She has been present since the beginning of the universe, created soon after her eldest sibling, Destiny. She is destined to function as the embodiment of both life and death until the very last living thing is dead. After that, she was destined to put the universe to rest. At the end of time, when the universe dies, she claims that she will "put up the chairs, turn off the lights, and lock the doors behind me when I leave." Since each of the Endless is also their own opposite, Death is also the embodiment of life. Everyone meets her twice: at birth she gives the breath of life, and everyone, from mortals to stars to gods, see her once more when their time comes.
Death of the Endless came into existence shortly before the first lifeforms appeared in the universe, older then any god, she has existed throughout creation. She is anthropomorphic personification of the concept of death. At the end of time, when the universe dies, she is destined to put the universe to rest. Death is inconceivably powerful being as both lord and personification of all death and life. Death has an limitless magical powers and can only be hurt by means she allows. Death's sigil is the ankh pendant she wears around her neck.
Death appears as a young, attractive, slim woman of average height in her early to mid 20's. She has very pale skin, dark eyes, long jet-black hair that she wears in a variety of styles and has an Eye of Horus painted under one of her eyes. She prefers to dress casually and she always wears black clothing usually in the form of a black tank top, black slim jeans, a black belt, and a pair of black boots. Occasionally, she has wore a black multi-tiered/ruffled skirt, and a pair of opaque black tights. Death has a variety of accessories including top hats, spiked bracelets, and a leather jacket. Despite her dislike of formal wear, Death does on occasion wear Victorian style dresses. Sometimes she carries an umbrella or cane, but her most notable accessory is a silver ankh which she wears on a chain around her neck. She has been described as "goth" in appearance and many people, both men and women consider her to be very beautiful.
Death, to the surprise of many, is exceptionally kind, cheerful, laid-back, and compassionate. She loves her job and takes it very seriously and she is a generally kind and upbeat individual Also, despite her virtually infinite power, authority, knowledge, and influence she is shown to be extremely easygoing and humble. She prefers to dress and act casually, disliking formal dress and events, to the surprise of many who encounter her--and who they assume would be an ominous personage.
Death, by her own admission, was not always who she now is; billions of years ago, Death was quite cold and pragmatic. Her demeanor didn't change until she was asked by one she collected; "How would you like it?" After that, she resolved to live for one day as mortal to see how she liked it, and what she could learn. It was only after her taste of mortality that she altered the way she thought about her job. She decided that at the end, most would be glad for the company of a friend, and that was what she tried to become.
Despite Death's kind and gentle nature she is able to inspire great fear and intimidate the most fearsome and persistent of cosmic forces.
